The 2.6 million hypercar by Horacio Pagani “wears” Dani’s leather

The new model of the 2.6 million hypercar by Horacio Pagani has chosen, for its interiors, materials developed by Dani. The third model of the series that began in 1999 by Automobili Pagani and Zonda, and follows the Huayra (2011), is called Utopia: it’s worth 2.6 million euro. For this project, the Veneto-based tannery created two types of leather: one semianiline, in a Bordeaux nuance, and one in semianiline of butter color with intrinsic stitching. “A new offer guarantees the highest level of customization”, says the company.

Pagani Utopia is the fruit of 6 years of work, 4,000 drawings, two 1:1 scale models, and eight prototypes. It’s not an everyday car: it’s powered by a bi-turbo V12 Mercedes engine developing 864 horsepower and able to develop 1,100 Nm at just 2,800 rpms. The car was presented at the Museo della Scienza e della Tecnologia in Milan on September 13th 2022.

Power and lightness

“Sinuous, clean and timeless lines. Large wheels, retro-styled interiors and an incredibly high level of attention and care for details”. Utopia is “A sculpture you can sit in”, reads the official press release. Moreover, the monocoque chassis made in carbon-titanium and carbo-triax mix, allows the car to reach “incredible lightness”. The overall weight is of 1,300 KGs and the power-to-weight ratio is of 1.5 KG/hp. Characteristics and performances that are further valued thanks to leather interiors.
