Tanning chemistry and its green champions. Credit Suisse and Kon Group have included Corichem and Silvateam in the list of the 100 companies most concerned about sustainability. The analysis and elaboration of the ranking was supported by Forbes Italia and “will be continued with investments in a business community dedicated to the Sustainability Award”. In other words, a sort of “club”, in which exclusive content can be accessed with a view to debate and sharing.
Green champions
Corichem of Sarego (Vicenza, left) produces chemical auxiliaries and dyes for companies in the tanning sector. Silvateam from San Michele Mondovì (Cuneo, Italy, right) is the leading producer of vegetable extracts and chemicals for the tanning sector. Both are among the 100 sustainability champions of Credit Suisse and Kon Group. The evaluation, explains forbes.it, skimmed 350 self-nominations to get to 200 companies that were then interviewed. This group resulted in the 100 champions.
Criteria and next steps
The ranking, drawn up by Altis, is based on three key elements. First: Essential, the dimensions without which it is difficult to claim that a company is sustainable. Second: Basic, the dimensions that contribute to making a company sustainable. Third: Advanced, the dimensions that identify excellence in sustainability in a specific ESG area. The initiative, as stated on forbes.it, will have continuity “through the organisers’ investment in a business community dedicated to the Sustainability Award”. It will be “an exclusive club, where continuous improvement in sustainability is stimulated, and the rapid achievement of higher and higher levels of ESG rating with consequent positive impacts on the whole community”.
