TFL, the giant of tanning chemicals, announced that it has completed the acquisition of the assets of Industria Chimica Fine (ICF). With this operation, TFL closes the loop. In fact, since 2018 it has been renting the ICF plant in Medicina, in the province of Bologna, to support the production of chemical auxiliaries for tanning.
TFL closes the loop
The acquisition involved the Italian subsidiary TFL Italia. The company explained that it “will use the increased production capacity to supplement the capacity of its existing facilities in France, India, China and Brazil, and supply the growing market with innovative products for cars, furniture and footwear”.
This acquisition, according to the company, will not have consequences for employees, customers and suppliers, precisely because the relationships between the two companies have been solid for a long time. The operation represents for TFL a further example of its current dynamism. In fact, last August it acquired the tanning division of Lanxess.
The comment
“Over the past two years, we have worked closely with Andrea Tarricone of ICF and the excellent team that manages the Medicina facility. We are very pleased to have completed the purchase of the assets – explains Brian Watson, Chief Operating Officer of TFL -. Combining ICF’s technical and manufacturing strengths with TFL products and the reach of global marketing, provides a win-win solution for our customers. We are also delighted that Andrea Tarricone, who led the development of ICF’s business and manufacturing capacity, will join us at TFL to support the future growth of our business”.
