The Italian trade fairs for finished products and fashion accessories are defining dates and strategies for the next editions. The objective: to outline the panorama of what (for now and who knows when) has been defined as the “new normality”. In the light of this dimension, therefore, Pitti, in view of the June edition, takes a step towards the pre-pandemic exhibition formula. Micam and Mipel, on the other hand, confirm their last time horizon for September, while Expo Riva Schuh (in conjunction with Gardabags) details its next calendar.
Let’s start with Pitti
There is confidence in Florence. This is demonstrated by Pitti‘s decision to reorganise its fair agenda starting in June. Hoping for a more sustained (and free) presence of foreign buyers, the organisers have chosen to return to the past. How? By separating the men’s fashion salons from the kid’s, as was always the case until the pandemic arrived. In other words, Pitti Uomo will take place at Fortezza da Basso in Florence on June 14-17, while Pitti Bimbo will be back on its own on June 22-24.
Micam and Mipel
In some ways this is a confirmation, in others a maintenance of the fair status quo. Micam and Mipel, in fact, announce that the duration of their next editions (as usual concurrent) will be 3 days. That is: at Fieramilano Rho on September 18-20, 2022. It will be the 94th edition of Micam Milano (third episode of the Micam Glass Slipper campaign), while Mipel has reached edition number 122. Focus for both fairs: the collections for Spring-Summer 2023. Their last day will coincide with the first day of the 100th edition of Lineapelle (Autumn-Winter 2023-2024), which will activate a further synergy with Mipel, confirming the proposal of Mipel Lab, the exhibition dedicated to leather sourcing. Alongside Lineapelle, which will end on September 22, there will also be the Simac Tanning Tech exhibition.
Expo Riva confirms
Expo Riva Schuh announces the dates for its 97th edition, which will be held together with the eighth Gardabags. It will be held from on June 11-14, 2022, confirming the 4-day formula and the presence of exhibitors from over 30 countries. Among them, besides Italy: China, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Brazil, Indonesia, Iran, Egypt, Nigeria, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Poland. The Innovation Village Retail will also be back at the exhibition, this time focusing on the traceability of products and raw materials.
