Some players consider it as a challenge. Others believe it is a necessary “political choice”. Some more think it is an opportunity, for the fashion and luxury industry, to spread a sign of vitality all around the market. In addition, a chance to make again a physical connection with buyers and customers. In other words, that is what we are learning over this alienating pandemic period: to interact (also) “physically”. Such are, in a nutshell, the drives of some companies that, together with over 300 more, have decided, so far, to participate as exhibitors in Lineapelle – A New Point Of View. The smart fair project will take place at Fieramilano Rho on 22-23 September 2020.
Halls 5 and 7
First and foremost, here is a logistic update about the placement of Lineapelle – A New Point of View inside Fieramilano Rho exhibition spaces. In fact, the event “will take place at halls 5 and 7, not at halls 9 and 11, as formerly announced”, pointed out at Lineapelle. In other words, “in the core of the area also hosting Micam, Mipel and The One. The new placement will encourage common visitors showing up at the events and crawling around the halls, therefore gathering them in the east side of the fair area”. More specifically, “tanneries will exhibit at hall 5, while accessories and components, along with fabrics and synthetics, will be placed at hall 7”.
A political choice, a sign of vitality
The present situation is rather complicated. Yet, right considering such difficult and critical scenario, “participating in this trade show is compulsory to our company”, commented Stefano Giannotti, sales and marketing chief director of Incas tannery, which has recently launched the Slow Leather project. “To be there is a political choice. We want to show that Italian leather lives, counts: it is dynamic and essential. Exhibiting is a way to send a message: it is a challenge. One more reason why we are taking part in the fair is to create again a physical connection with the market”.
Strength and positivity
“We have enthusiastically welcomed Lineapelle new formula – commented Silvia Polli, Manifattura di Domodossola –. While facing, at present, such heavy crisis, it is important to send a sign of strength and positivity to foster a swift recovery of our trade industry. Our company never stopped and the upcoming fair will give us a valuable opportunity to present our new collections”.
Understanding the market
Hakan Bilgen (sales & marketing manager of Marmara tannery), from Turkey, emphasized the importance of enjoying an opportunity, in full compliance with mandatory safety standards, to get back in touch, personally, with buyers. “We have decided to participate in this event – remarked Bilgen – to be able to meet our customers’ demand, by finding out about their needs and current requests. Besides that, we aim at understanding the market situation by speaking, face to face, to people: in so doing, we will subsequently manage to create the right items and get closer to our goals. Therefore, we shall successfully overcome these stressful days”.
