Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags closes better than expected. The international exhibition of footwear and volume accessories closes its 97th edition exceeding the threshold of 8,000 visitors. A result that satisfies and, say the organisers, confirms the correctness of an approach that is always international and internationalising.
Better than expected
Expo Riva Schuh, from Saturday, June 11 to Tuesday, June 14, welcomed more than 8,000 buyers from 103 countries around the world. In the top range were Italy (34%), Germany (10%), France (6%), Spain (5%) and the United Kingdom (4.5%).
News, competitions, talks
Rewarding, in this edition’s return to an (almost) pre-pandemic formula, was the decision to further upgrade the tone of the exhibition from that of a simple “trade fair” to that of a “networking event”. Upgrading demonstrated by the increasingly richer programme of talks and the novelty of the Kind Leather Contest, supported by JBS Couros, and won by Indonesian designer Tommy Ambiyo Tedji. Another important news: the first formal presence – with a booth – of Alibaba, partner of the fair.
The comment
“We are very satisfied because the effort and commitment with which we have implemented the incoming activity of international buyers has enabled us to achieve excellent results. We welcomed buyers from new and unexpected countries in the southern hemisphere. For example: Australia, Mauritius, Ivory Coast”. But also “Thailand, reaching as far as Latin America. These are absolutely positive signs that encourage us to continue along this path,” says GianPaola Pedretti, Exhibition Manager of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags.
