Gallery shoes will be held. Düsseldorf’s footwear fair will take place regularly, starting on March 8th, 2020. Yet, German fairs are living a challenging period. One hand is the Covid-19 emergency, while on the other side are financial difficulties. For example, the insolvency procedure currently taking place for Panorama Berlin.
Gallery shoes is a go
Igedo Company, which organizes Gallery Shoes, communicated the regular happening of the fair from March 8th to the 10th. The decision though, was taken “after an intense exchange and with the support of the associations BDSE and HDS/L”, reads the official note. Inside the same note, they explain that last weekend Messe Düsseldorf cancelled all the fairs that were scheduled to take place in the coming weeks inside the German city. Igedo though, commented that “Gallery Shoes cannot even be compared to those events, in terms of number of visitors and exhibitors”. The company assures that “the highest level of precaution and security will be implemented”. Lastly, “Igedo is in close contact with Italian exhibitors to evaluate individual solutions”, reads the note.
Panorama is insolvent
Panorama Fashion Fair Berlin GmbH presented an insolvency petition to the Charlottenburg courthouse in Berlin. Jörg Wichmann justified (on sportswear-international) the decision by attributing it to the recent location change that took place in the January edition, when the fair moved to what used to be Tempelhof airport. The decision “led to investments and costs beyond the forecasts, as well as to a reduction of revenue”. Wichmann plans to start restructuring the business under a new format, including creating synergies with other fairs that take place at Berlin’s Tempelhof such as Selvedge Run and Nenonyt. Wichmann stated that the events hould still take place as scheduled, from June 20th to July 2nd, 2020.
