APLF delays once more. The fair that showcases materials for the fashion industry in Hong Kong, which had already moved the event of 2020, further moves the date. The reason: the Coronavirus pandemic has yet to stop affecting global travel.
And so, the appointment planned for March 30th – April 1st of 2021 has been moved to July 5th and 7th, 2021. The fair confirmed its original location: Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
APLF delays once more
“The decision to move the exhibition dates is in view of the ongoing COVID-19 situation which continues to impact global travel, including countries where leather and fashion products are manufactured and exported.”, explain the organizers. The decision, continues the note, was taken after “extensive consultation with our industry partners, associations and most importantly our exhibitors and buyers”. TFair hosts individuals from over 90 countries: the move to July allows, hopes APLF, for the fair to be conducted when travel conditions from and to Hong Kong will be easier.
The comment
“As an event organizer, we will need to ensure the three-day event will enable the best business opportunities for buyers and sellers – commented Grace Lee, Event Director of APLF -. As such, we had to make a difficult but proactive decision to reschedule the fair in July, to enable the best conditions for all participants”. “All of us at APLF – adds Michael Duck, director of the event -, wish everyone reading this announcement to remain safe, healthy and keep a positive mindset that we will beat this COVID-19 and bring the industry back to full strength”.
