ILM changes its date. The leather goods fair’s organizers chose to delay the date of the Offenbach event by a month. The German tradeshow, planned for March 6th – 8th, was rescheduled for April 10th – 12th. “It would be irresponsible towards our exhibitors and visitors to hold a fair during the first quarter of 2021”, claimed Arnd Hinrich Kappe, CEO of Messe Offenbach, the organization that manages ILM.
ILM changes its date
The pandemic continues to cause disruptions and changes to the leather segment’s tradeshow calendar. After having consulted the 300 exhibitors of the fair, including some from Italy, Messe Offenbach has decided to delay the event by a month. Contrary to physical fair, the virtual format (ILM Virtual Order Show) will not be delayed and will remain available for operators in the original date. “The answers from exhibitors showcase that we are going in the right direction with the digital fair – explains Mr. Kappe to sportswear-international –. Hybrid formats are the future”.
Better in April
Moreover, Mr. Kappe considers April to be a better date under an economic standpoint. “resellers’ warehouses are full, and many of the segment’s operators would be unable to estimate the orders and consequent season in March – he concludes -. On the other hand, in April, the first signs for the upcoming season should be clearer”.
