Once ILM (German leather goods tradeshow) is over, organizers mentioned to have found both optimism and positiveness around the fair. Not all exhibitors though agree, as some show skepticism. The fair that took place in Offenbach, Germany (September 4th – 6th) hosted 207 brands. But that’s not all: until September 10th, buyers will be able to access the ILM Virtual Order Show.
Optimism and positiveness
Organizer Messe Offenbach explained in a press note that the edition that just closed was “a success. After being forced to remain close for 18 months, the international leather goods’ fair didn’t lose its appeal: just the opposite”. CEO Arnd Hinrich Kappe has said to be very satisfied with the high number of visitors that came to the fair, enough to say that “the new start was fantastic”. There is no precise data on the total number of visitors, but foreign visitors arrived from 27 countries and, even considering the Covid-related restrictions, they accounted for about 20% of the total.
Exhibitors don’t agree
Yet, the views of exhibitors don’t align with that of organizers. For example, Simona Ghislotti, sales manager of Maxima, explained that unfortunately “ILM didn’t go as we hoped. There were less visitors compared to the February 2020 edition”. The manager stated that all buyers that visited Maxima’s stand were already known to the brand. The positive note is that they placed orders. “We maybe had one or two new clients”, closed Ghislotti. The same skepticism was confirmed by other exhibitors.
