“What do I expect from Lineapelle? That everything should go swimmingly. In fact, I’m sure of it: everything will go swimmingly.” This is how Ivan Scalfarotto, MP and undersecretary at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, welcomed the opening of Lineapelle (Fieramilano Rho, 20-22 September). In his role as coordinator of the Committee for Fashion and Accessories, the MP invited the Italian fashion system, starting from the reform of the trade fair calendar, to build a network for success for everything ‘made in Italy’: “Italian fashion is a unique system – his exact words – which showcases our elegance. The companies downstream cannot be successful without the ones upstream, and vice versa. Every fair is an island in the same archipelago, which showcases Italian elegance.” The aim, concludes Scalfarotto, is “for everyone to prosper.” (rp)
