Just yesterday news broke that the 3 Milan-based fairs (Micam, Mipel and TheOne) have decided to move their next editions by 3 weeks, marking March 13th through the 15th as the new dates. All three fairs were supposed to take place between February 20th and 22nd, in Fieramilano Rho, almost at the same time as Lineapelle which, on the other hand, has chosen to confirm its dates: February 22nd through 24th. Here is why.
Lineapelle explains why it confirms February
This choice – explains Lineapelle in a note – is based on precise reasons. “Due to the peculiarity of their exhibits (leathers, materials, accessories, components), LINEAPELLE thinks that a postponement would not allow the production chain to respect the correct dynamics of creative development and production of collections and that the current schedule is the only one meeting this requirement”.
The participation in the fair
Besides, the community of LINEAPELLE buyers and visitors – continues Lineapelle – is composed by the middle-high segment of the fashion industry, which has operational and commercial offices in Italy and in Europe, and whose participation in the event is not prevented by the current management of the pandemic. In addition, we are also asking with extreme urgency the authorities in charge to solve the problem of access of foreign operators who have been given vaccines not recognized by EMA (European Medicines Agency).
The confirmation
“In the respect of their role worldwide and of the work of their exhibitors (over 900 coming from 32 countries confirmed their presence) and visitors (click here for registration), LINEAPELLE reiterates that is will take place, according to schedule, from 22nd to 24th February 2022 and that they are going to evaluate with the highest attention the possible consequences of any evolution of the pandemic and of any new law decrees and protocols by the government”.
