Art and furniture. Walls, tables, sofas, bedrooms, bathrooms, screens, chairs. It is a wide-ranging proposal dedicated to furnishing that will be showcased during the second edition of Lineapelle Interiors, on the occasion of Lineapelle at Fiera Milano Rho, from 25 to 27 February. This exhibition project involves 37 companies and 20 new installations that play between art and design. “The aim is to emphasise the process that leads to the creation of objects that are symbols of Made in Italy”, emphasises Maurizio Molini, creative director of Lineapelle Interiors.
The projects on display
Combining leather with other materials as a starting point for the creation of new furnishing accessories. These range from the vegetable-tanned leather floor developed by Oscarmaschera together with Conceria Lo Stivale, to the wall entirely made of Alcantara, inspired by the colours of the hills, presented by Savio Interiors. This edition leaves no one behind. Notte Fatata, for example, has created a children’s bedroom produced with leather by Vincenza Pelli, while Antonio Lupi Design has embellished a washbasin with Certaldese’s leather. If panels with horn inserts by Arcahorn were placed side by side with leather from Industria Conciaria Arzignanese, Mistral Creative Vision, instead, decorated a wall with metal finishes by De Castelli, inspired by the encounter between the sea and the Mediterranean forest.
The encounter with art
A journey that also looks to art, as we said. Like the sculptures by artist Guerrino Dirindin, immersed in the vegetable-tanned leather walls by Conceria Presot, or Ludovica Mascheroni’s leather screen by Conceria Bretagna. Mobi’s modular system, entirely covered in leather by Conceria Cristina, sums up the union between art and design. Poltronova’s iconic chair returns in a new guise, with fur-trimmed leather by Conceria Tris, while the furnishing elements inspired by Oxilla’s 15th-century tonal painting were embellished by Manifattura di Domodossola.
TM Service produced a blanket made of leather by Conceria Dani, and Tisca Italia wool carpets were embellished with leather by Conceria Priante. At Barausse, the wall with a door was adorned with leather from Conceria Leonica. Dema, on the other hand, opted for a sofa and a screen with leather from Faeda, while daDooor experimented with a movable wall in precious fabrics from Limonta. Not to be missed, a large marble table by Fuda and screens by Materica, enhanced with leather by Pro-fit.
Molini’s words
“The objective is to highlight the true Made in Italy, the production process that leads to the creation of a product. This path, which starts from a point and arrives at the finished product, involves a huge number of workers dedicated to shaping the excellence we see today, and centuries of inspiration”, says Molini. These, then, are the foundations of Lineapelle Interiors: promoting and enhancing leather in interior design through styling and product development. “The transformation of Made in Italy semi-finished products into design products”, Molini continues, “helps to communicate their value, amplifying their attractiveness at an international level”.
