It used to be and is still a scheduled date. That is why, despite Covid-19, it took place anyway. Lineapelle meets Tokyo Leather Fair: in a different variation though, digital and remote of course. Last Thursday the Japanese event exhibition hosted, on Zoom platform, the traditional presentation of fashion trends, formerly spotlighted during Lineapelle latest edition, which took place, at Fieramilano Rho, on last February 19-21.
Lineapelle meets Tokyo
Japan’s fashion industry players were actively engaged in the presentation, which turned out to be a real remote style seminar focused on summer 2021 prospective trends. Lineapelle summed them up in a mood, The Era of Simplifying. Namely, a creative invitation to “simplify and remove redundancies and complications”, which somehow prefigures and echoes, today, a number of dissertations we read and heard about what is going to happen in the next future, after Covid-19.
Save the (physical) date in December
Tokyo Leather Fair was due to celebrate, on last May 27-28, its edition n.102. Yet, “owing to health safety standards, which were insufficient to allow the event”, they decided to postpone the exhibition until the end of the year. In other words, the fair will take place on Wednesday 2 December and Thursday 3 December 2020: the venue is going to be the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Centre. Reference season: Fall/Winter 2021-2022.
