Lineapelle drives hard on the “+” sign. In a trend that clearly goes against the flow of the current market situation, the most important international event in the leather sector yesterday closed the doors on the Autumn/Winter 2017/18 edition, racking up 9% more visitors (21,184) than in September 2015, with a significant increase in foreign buyers (from 109 countries), proof of a confirmed, international dimension that is on the rise. The number of exhibitors attending was also up: 1241 (a record) from 44 countries, a 6% rise on the September 2015 figure. “We are very satisfied with the result of the fair – comments Maurizio Ingegno from the Faeda tannery –, it has confirmed our expectations. We have met many visitors, both from Italy and abroad. From where? Above all Central Europe and the USA”. Shankar Ravi, Marketing Manager of the leather division of Indian multinational Tata is on the same wavelength: “We welcomed our old customers and met some new ones too, many from Italy and the United States”. Now that Lineapelle is finished, the market is waiting to reap its fruits. “The results of the work done in the last few days – comments Luigi De Vita, Sales Manager of Deviconcia – will be visible in six months, when we pass from the orders to production”.
