Lineapelle95, day 3: the leather and materials fair comes to an end. Aiming, in Milan, at the worldwide market

“Expectations about the fair results are good, even though we are aware of the fact that the market is calm: all sectors, at which leather is directed, are waiting, with just a few exceptions. Yet, the medium/high-end segment is the one achieving the best performance, even in a slowdown moment”. Ugo Morozzi, from Tuscan tannery Valpel, is striving to give a tidy picture, on his mind, of Lineapelle95. The fair event, dedicated to leather and materials for the fashion industry, has come today to its third and last day, on the agenda at Fieramilano Rho. “We must be alert till the very end, we can never chill out”, says smilingly Luca Masoni, from M2 tannery, while stressing the importance of being ready and fit even in the last hours of the exhibition. Annalisa Manfrini, from Nuova Mimec, a small components manufacturer, while talking about the buyers she met at Lineapelle, remarks: “We missed Portuguese and Spanish visitors: conversely, we came across many Germans, together with several Russians and clients coming from Eastern Europe. Likewise, we encountered many visitors from Hong Kong and China”. Points out a new exhibitor, from Argentina: “We are traditionally strong in the domestic market as to footwear and accessories – says Pedro Pisacreta, from Curtiembre Napolitana –. We now decided to start participating in Lineapelle as we aim to open our business to European market”.
