Lineapelle is ‘beautiful’. Mipel ‘dynamic’. Micam ‘bold’. TheOne ‘natural’ and Milano Fashion & Jewels is ‘heterogeneous’. 5 adjectives for 5 trade fairs presented at the headquarters of Confindustria Accessori Moda, in the now customary joint press conference to launch their forthcoming exhibition proposal. A set of trade fairs that, never before as in this edition, are getting started hoping to observe, in the booths of their exhibitors, sparks and signs of an economic situation that is trying to change course.
The calendar
2,858 exhibitors and brands “46% of which come from 51 countries, will be at the centre of the five events scheduled at Fiera Milano Rho from February 22”. In chronological order, it starts with Milano Fashion&Jewels on 22nd February (until 25th). Then comes Micam, Mipel and TheOne (merged with Micam) from 23 to 25. It closes with Lineapelle from 25 to 27 February. “An alliance”, reads a note, “that underlines and confirms the value of a synergy capable of combining innovation, tradition and business. The fairs, anticipating Milan Fashion Week, offer a showcase for the most innovative trends and ideas, becoming fundamental stages for those who want to grasp the evolution of the market”.

Lineapelle and Mipel
“Choosing the adjective ‘beautiful’ to define Lineapelle”, explains Fulvia Bacchi, CEO of Lineapelle, “is a dedication to our exhibitors. It is a tribute to their amazing ability to propose a very high level of innovation at every edition. Continuous research and creativity on materials, accessories, and components are values that go beyond any theme that is being discussed in this economic moment”. The ‘beauty’ of Lineapelle also lies in the proposal of events to elevate the trade fair experience for its community.
“We are working”, concludes Bacchi, “to expand our horizon beyond the fashion world, investing in interior design”. Mipel, on the other hand, is ‘dynamic’, explains President Claudia Sequi, because “it represents a unique cross-section in the panorama of the leather goods world. It is an unrivalled showcase for all SMEs, from the most structured to innovative start-ups that are entering our world for the first time. That’s why it is dynamic. Because it is not just a commercial hub, but a cultural reference for the entire supply chain”.
Micam, TheOne, Milano Fashion&Jewels
According to Giovanna Ceolini, president of Micam, the audacity of the event refers to it being “made up of people, entrepreneurs and buyers, brave enough to get back into the game every six months. In believing in it, in confronting each other”. TheOne is ‘natural,’ comments vice-president Cesare Gavazzi, “because it represents a sector, the fur industry, characterised 100% by a slow fashion model”. Concludes Emanuele Guido, director of Milano Fashion&Jewels, a trade fair that is “heterogeneous because it is based on the desire to escape, in terms of product”, from any potential homologation.
