Fairs turn on Milan again. Yesterday, 20 September 2020, in the morning, it took place the ribbon cutting ceremony for a few trade shows. Following the opening of Homi, on Saturday 19 September, such events will go on until Wednesday 23 September to liven up, once again, the exhibition area located in Fieramilano Rho.
Today, then, Micam, Mipel, and TheOne have opened their stands: on Tuesday 22, A New Point of View, a special format launched by Lineapelle, will “join” them.
Ribbon cutting
“We are starting again at last – remarked Siro Badon, president of Micam, –. We have been striving hard to arrange this one-of-a-kind event, which is somehow unique to a great extent, and send a clear message to the industry, which was calling for pragmatism, briskness and efficiency to actively support businesses hit by the health emergency”.
His words were echoed by Franco Gabbrielli (president of Mipel) e Norberto Albertalli (president of TheOne) and were further affirmed by Manlio Di Stefano (Undersecretary for the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) and Carlo Ferro, president of ICE, who attended the opening ceremony.
Micam, Mipel, TheOne
Micam, Mipel and TheOne kicked off while being fully aware of the importance of making their event identity meaningful: as a matter of fact, they undoubtedly prove to be a commercial and promotional benchmark in their own industries.
Micam, on its edition number 90, has opened its stands to “showcase products made and presented by over 600 brands – as they pointed out in a press release –. Over 5,000 buyers, mostly coming from Italy and Europe, will be participating in the trade show, therefore providing exhibitors with some relevant business opportunities”.
Mipel hosts “about 90 brands: by confirming their participation, they have sent a strong message to the market and have made clear that Italian leather goods industry is looking forward for a swift recovery”.
As regards TheOne, they emphasized: “We have invented a new exhibition model, that is, the “scattered fair”, which we are going to repeat after this experience, the first one. (…) Our exhibitors will be physically present at Micam halls and pavilions, aiming to optimize buyers’ routes, setups and languages”. The whole events will take place in full (and responsible) compliance with all security protocols, required by the current health emergency, due to Covid-19 outbreak.
