It proves to be a choice for the fashion system and for the industry businesses. Mipel is #strongertogether: it will take place at Fieramilano Rho, on September 20-23. The bag and fashion accessories trade show, on its edition number 118, will be hosted at Hall 1: the “event format is going to be smaller – pointed out organizers – though renovated”. Simultaneously, over the same days, the Milan exhibition area will be hosting the whole of fashion events: namely A New Point of View (22-23), Micam (20-23), TheOne (20-23) and Homi – Fashion & Jewels (19-22). A system synergy that aims at making the industry stronger.
Mipel is #strongertogether
“We did want to be there. We do it for ourselves, for the leather goods system as much as for small and medium-sized enterprises – pointed out, in a press release, Franco Gabbrielli, president of Mipel –. In my opinion, who is going to be there will seize a great opportunity for the future”. The fair event, arranged with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ICE Agency and organized with the sponsorship of the Municipality of Milan, does account for a project: “Our participation has never been called into question – continued Gabbrielli –, despite the difficulties we have been going through in terms of organization.
This edition is going to mark out a boundary for us: to stay together now is of paramount importance. In other words, we must come together as a team in order to tackle the present situation, which caught us all flatfooted: such is the way to show that we care about the industry and we strive together to revamp it”.
Participants
“Around 90 brands will be attending the fair. While confirming their participation, they have sent a strong message to the market: Italian leather goods industry wants to start again – continued Danny D’Alessandro, Mipel chief manager –. Of course, compared to the previous editions, fewer people will take part in the event: nonetheless, we never had any doubts about the show confirmation. Mipel is undoubtedly a strategic and highly precious opportunity for the industry.
Businesses and buyers come here not only to close some deals, but also to share their own standpoints, keep up with the latest news and sector trends, take inspiration and meet up. We have been missing all that for seven months at this point”.
Areas
Once again, the trade show will host talks and seminars at the Trend Area and at Mipel Square. Focus on the Miss Mipel project: in this space, they will promote and advertise the uniqueness and the value of Italian leather goods all over the world. Which way? They will provide manufacturers with the opportunity to showcase their products, share them and introduce themselves abroad, both by e-commerce channels and pop-up stores, which are currently underway. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ICE Agency have been supporting the project as well.
Digital and start-up
Mipel Digital Trade Show, instead, is the virtual interface of the exhibition event. The portal, which is due to kick off on September 15th, will complete Mipel activities by engaging who is not going to be personally present at the fair event. Such venture may well rely on a valuable partnership with NuORDER, a leading platform in the B2B fashion e-commerce.
Exhibitors will take advantage, until next November 15th, of several marketing tools, such as digital catalogues, line sheets, global images and a virtual showroom. Focus, meanwhile, on the Italian Start-up project, whose aim is to support young fashion designers and foster their growth and development.
