First impressions seem positive for Prima MU, the preview event for Milano Unica, the Italian Textile Trade Fair set to take place from 6 to 8 September in the new exhibition spaces at Fieramilano Rho. Prima MU, now in its second year and held at Fieramilanocity alongside Anteprima by Lineapelle (same dates, same hall), reported double the number of exhibitors, from 66 to 133, and excellent visitor turnout. Large groups especially appreciated these previews, those who “represent 20% of our client base and 80% of our business”, says Ercole Botto Poala, Trade Fair President. “For the clients, it is important to see the collections in advance, so they have more time to decide”, said the team from Vitale Barberis Canonico (Biella), a leading producer of fine fabrics. “July could be the perfect time for visitors, September is too late”, says Alberto Bernini, owner of buttons and accessories company Sandra B (Parma), considering the possibility of moving Milano Unica to July. “Timescales are getting tighter and this is the moment when clients make their choices”, reiterates Giulia Foa of the fabric company of the same name.
