The volume shoe market in confrontation setting at Riva del Garda. The 101st edition of Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags is scheduled from 15 to 18 June at Riva del Garda Exhibition Centre.
Who’s there
The 101st edition of Expo Riva Schuh features 1,300 exhibitors, brands and companies represented from 40 nations, including the world’s largest manufacturing countries. Overall, they occupy an exhibition area of 50,000 square metres gross, with 11 pavilions and 4 hotels involved. “We need new spaces: this year as well, the requests far exceeded the availability”, said the president of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, Roberto Pellegrini. In the Gardabags area there are 47 companies. 19 events are scheduled, with market focus, talks on fashion and trends, appointments with innovation and celebrations for this edition. Also back are the Innovation Village Retail, organised in collaboration with Retail Hub, with ten international start-ups and the Highlights Area, in collaboration with Arsutoria.
The market framework
Lorenzo Bardelli of Calba (Varese) says that “Sales of summer products have yet to start, and the sales will soon start. There are several negative factors, starting with the weather: the hot weather hasn’t arrived yet. And if the warm weather arrives late, people buy on sale or super cheap articles. Then there is the increased consumer interest in travel, holidays, restaurants and other experiences. And we all have full cupboards. And again the wars and the cost of living. Buyers are buying cautiously and last minute”.
“For our company, Expo Riva Schuh is above all a meeting point with some important customers to show them the new collection”, adds Samuele Camerlengo of the shoe factory Lorenzi (Fermo), “and to receive feedback on sales and the market situation. So, I expect a positive edition to get information and ideas, but I do not expect many orders. In this situation of uncertainty they come at the last moment”.
