In Spain, Futurmoda has been postponed one month, “waiting for the pandemic situation to get better hopefully”. In Germany, ILM, a leather goods trade show, has presented its virtual format: it is due to run simultaneously (in March 2021) with the physical one.
Futurmoda postponed one month
Futurmoda (an international exhibition of components and machinery for footwear and leather goods) announced they have rescheduled the fair again. In fact, after the cancellation of the event formerly planned on October 21st-22nd, 2020, AEC (the association of Spanish footwear manufacturing companies, which is also the organizer of the exhibition) had rescheduled the fair on March 10th – 11th, 2021. While observing the ongoing evolution of the pandemic, they have now decided to postpone it one month. In other words, Futurmoda will eventually take place on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th April 2021. As reported by Revista del Calzado, organizers aim to round up about 300 companies presenting their new products for spring-summer 2022. Futurmoda takes place in Elche (Alicante) twice a year.
ILM presents its virtual format
Messe Offenbach, which organizes the ILM leather goods trade show, has presented the ILM Virtual Order Show. “We consider it as an event which is due to run simultaneously with the physical edition (on the agenda on March 6th – 8th, 2021, editor’s note): in other words, a supplementary event”, pointed out Arnd Hinrichkap, Chief Executive Officer of Messe Offenbach, while speaking to Fashion United’s German edition. They are going to implement this virtual project by creating a 3D space where exhibitors and visitors will be able to talk to each other, while commenting product presentations underway.
Furthermore, they will also have a chance to arrange appointments and encounters on chat.
