Tradition, innovation, inspiration. That’s what visitors are looking for at Lineapelle today, on the second day of the exhibition, on its 95th edition, the most important leather and materials international fair in the fashion system. “Smooth, simple, traditional leather, not necessarily bound to one single season”: that’s what Laura will be looking for. She is already a professional in the fashion industry, but she is also planning to launch her own brand. “I like shoes- she carries on-. I will therefore wander around the components stands, looking for studs or special metal elements”. Conversely, two fashion designers, who work for an important local brand based in the Tuscan district, have come over to Milan aiming to “think up ideas”. “We deal with various customers – they point out – therefore we have to look around, aiming at something that is already on our mind, still being open to cutting-edge products”. Simone, in contrast, is employed as a researcher in the footwear division of a high-end Italian brand: “We are here to detect, experience, find new collaborations – he says -. We are observing that exhibitors are taking more and more initiative: we expect to see again the use of fluo and trendy carving, along with printed and patent leather”. “You can’t miss the date, you must be here”, smilingly comments Mat, from The Netherlands: “Here you can find whatever you are looking for, and new products too – he carries on -. Personally, I am most interested in printed leather, with bright colours and defined patterns”. On the other hand, Rahmid, from Pakistan, is sure he is not going to buy anything today: “At Lineapelle you may find top quality products, perhaps still not affordable for our buyers – he points out -. Yet we need to know what is going on around the world”.
