Expo 2025 Osaka: Lineapelle protagonist in the Italian Pavilion

The value of time and the excellence of craftsmanship. The ability to be “Forever Young”, creating materials, accessories, solutions not only of the highest quality, but capable – above all – of winning a fundamental challenge. The “supergreen one”  of durability. It is with these assumptions in mind that, on May 13 and 14, Lineapelle lands in Japan, at Expo 2025 Osaka, which opened last Sunday (April 13). Here, inside the Italian Pavilion (pictured), Lineapelle will offer two days of talks and workshops. Title, precisely: “Forever Young: Italian leather and the value of time“.

The overall theme of Expo 2025 Osaka is “Designing the society of the future for our lives“. The one on which the Italian participation is based, however, is “Art Regenerates Life”. Themes that intersect and enhance in the program of talks and workshops that Lineapelle will present on May 13 and 14. “For the Italian leather and fashion supply chain,” Lineapelle writes in a note, “the Japanese market has always been a very important destination for its attention to the creative and manufacturing quality of accessories and components, and to the naturalness of materials.

Proof of this is the fact that Lineapelle has always hosted a significant number of exhibitors and visitors from the Rising Sun. While twice a year it is present at Tokyo Leather Fair with a Trend Area and some seminars on fashion trend development. In addition, also in cooperation with Tokyo Leather Fair, Lineapelle promotes Leather Design Competition“. In other words, a historic contest that pits the creativity of students from Japan’s leading fashion and design schools against each other.

Forever Young

The program of Forever Young in Osaka includes “a diversified activity of popularizing the horizons of Italian craft culture related to leather and fashion.” First, “The presentation of the volume La Conceria di Pompei. It is the story in images and words of the patronage project that has seen UNIC – Italian Tanneries and Lineapelle support and accompany the restoration work of the tannery found in 1873 within the excavations of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii until its reopening to the public in 2023.” Second: “Some workshops that will allow visitors to discover, in a participatory way, the excellence of Italian know-how, including the precious art of gloving.” Third: “The insights by UNIC – Italian Tanneries of the historical and innovative green dimension of the Italian tanning industry”.

In other words, “A true international case history in terms of environmental attention, resource management, recovery and reuse of waste and scrap, and social responsibility. Winning factors of a business model based on the enhancement of production districts, each characterized by its own identity and beauty.” Fourth, “The workshops that will explore the meaning of color as a key factor in the development of creativity and in defining the quality, value and durability of Italian leather and fashion production”.
