Stylist Felipe Oliveira Baptista is allegedly in pole position to become the new creative director of the brand Kenzo. On Sunday, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, ex creative directors of the brand and now orbiting around the LVMH group, said goodbye to the public after 8 years of collaborations. The departure, which had already been announced, will allow the two of them to concentrate on the Opening Ceremony project.
A career a Lacoste
According to Fashion Network, the designated successor will be Mr. Baptista. The Portuguese stylist led the creative side of Lacoste for 8 years, where he was able to achieve good results in terms of sales (nearly doubled) thanks to more contemporary collections appealing to younger people. Baptista, 44 years old, from the Azores and with a keen interest for architecture, has allegedly beaten the competition of Marine Serre and Martina Rose. His name had been heard over and over in the last period and now the public simply awaits the official announcement.
