The first in chronological order is New York: from September 13 to 17, the Big Apple fashion week is staged. But the latest news is that Valentino gives up Paris, and will show in Milan. After the holidays, the Fashion Weeks will start. In New York, as we said, Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs will be missing, but security measures imposed by Governor Andy Cuomo will be in place.
If outdoors, a maximum of 50 people can attend the fashion shows, while indoors the event must be held without an audience. Once the curtain falls on the US week, the baton passes to the British Fashion Council, which is organising London fashion week from September 17 to 22: Burberry and Victoria Beckham attendance has been confirmed on the calendar.
Fashion Weeks start
Milano Moda Donna, meanwhile, from September 22 to 28, presents 160 collections, thanks to 28 physical fashion shows and 23 presentations in streaming. Speaking of names, there will be the brands of Armani group, Prada with Raf Simons, but Gucci won’t be present. “We will have four days with slots of all the most important brands that will have great creative freedom – explained Carlo Capasa, president of Camera della Moda, to MFF -. There will be many possibilities to participate to a different but important fashion week, because the sector must not and cannot stop”.
Considering that in the same days the sector fairs will also be held in Milan, including A New Point of View, Cirillo Marcolin, president of Confindustria Moda, explains to the newspaper that “September will be a month of particular importance for our relaunch”. What does he mean? “We want to demonstrate that a real restart – he replies – is only possible in a system logic. The premises are positive”. The fashion week carousel closes with Paris (September 28 – October 6), which can show its strength with Dior, but will miss Saint Laurent and Off-White.
