The BC Duo Bag brings together two identities in one. Created by the Cucinelli sisters, Camilla and Carolina—daughters of the brand’s founder—this new accessory combines minimalist design with Brunello Cucinelli’s timeless aesthetic. Available in four sizes, the bag features stitching crafted using special artisanal techniques to create a sense of three-dimensionality and mirrored cuts, precisely to convey the duality of the designers. “A bit like two pieces of a jigsaw puzzle coming together—very different, yet in harmony”, say Camilla and Carolina. Speaking to Corriere della Sera, they explained how they started with a timeless ideal, envisioning a bag that would serve as a true expression of the brand’s aesthetic philosophy—as well as their own personalities.
Simplicity and materials
Simplicity and attention to detail form the foundation of the BC Duo Bag, which is available in nappa leather, denim, or flannel. The project, the sisters assure, is not about the passing of the baton from their father, Brunello. “It’s something we wanted to do, closely linked to the product. We have both worked in the style office for years, and the idea was to create an accessory that could represent our essence—who we are and our tastes”, add the two designers. They were inspired by a particular ideal of woman. “We envisioned a woman who, like us, works, has children, juggles many commitments throughout the day, but also enjoys an aperitif with friends in the evening—someone who needs a versatile bag”, they emphasise.
Attention to detail
A bag that, in some ways, is modular. Inside, the BC Duo Bag conceals a small handbag that can be detached and used for evening occasions. Particular care was also given to the colour selection. “The palette ranges from neutral tones such as chocolate and sage green to more spring-like shades of peach and denim”. As for the design, the two Cucinelli sisters have focused on purity of form and lightness, creating a bag that can be carried on the arm or folded. All in keeping with the understated elegance that has always defined the brand.
