The news had circulated in September in the form of a rumours. Now, Prada confirms its intention to go ahead with the dual listing. And it does so through Lorenzo Bertelli, son of Patrizio and Miuccia Prada, head of corporate social responsibility and CEO in pectore (while waiting for the current CEO, Andrea Guerra, to prepare him for the role). The Italian group, which is already listed in Hong Kong, is really working on the IPO at Piazza Affari. When? That is not yet known.
Prada confirms plan for dual listing
In short, the intention is there, but it must first be settled. “Everything is still under discussion – are the words of Lorenzo Bertelli (in the photo) from La Stampa -. We need to understand if it is possible to do so. The presidency is making the necessary investigations to understand the feasibility, but we still have no answers. It is a bureaucratic matter, there are technical issues to be resolved”. The dauphin of the Bertelli family, while practising prudence, cannot hide his pride at the temerity of the operation: the dual listing “has never been done before by anyone else”, he says. “There is the need for the stock and the exchanges to be communicated to Hong Kong and Milan”.
