Estée Lauder has launched Tom Ford’s new course. Peter Hawkings, right hand of the previous designer for 25 years, will be the new creative director of the brand. Guillaume Jesel will be CEO. Zegna will produce the men and women collections of the brand and will nominate a new director of the fashion division in July. The three will work together “to guarantee a coherent and cohesive image among products, brand communication and retail sales”, says Estée Lauder. The beauty giant took over Tom Ford last November with 2.8 billion USD.
Tom Ford’s new course
Just 48 hours before the founder of Tom Ford said goodbye to its brand, the new owners made public the decision regarding the successor: Peter Hawkings, who started his career in Gucci in 1998 when the brand was run by Tom Ford. In 2006, Hawkings became a part of the design office of the brand Tom Ford to supervise the creation of the men’s collection, including leather goods and accessories. Estée Lauder’s choice received the endorsement of Tom Ford as well: The brand finds a perfect director in Peter Hawkings”, reported Fashion Network. CEO Guillaume Jesel has a long history with the brand and the owner as well, working with Estée Lauder from 2000 and becoming, in 2014, president of Tom Ford Beauty.
Fashion and Zegna
Ermenegildo Zegna group has announced the acquisition of 100% of Tom Ford International, the company that owns and manages the fashion activities of the brand. The company closed 2022 with 312 million euro in sales. Zegna was the historic partner of Tom Ford for the manufacturing of the men’s apparel lines and will now produce and distribute the men’s and women’s collections of the brand as per the latest deal signed with Estée Lauder. To develop the commercial aspect of Tom Ford Fashion, Zegna announced it will nominate a new CEO in July.
