Versalis (ENI) acquired Tecnofilm. It’s the second relevant acquisitions within the Marche region in the last 2 and a half years. In 2021, Versalis took over 100% of Finproject. The value of the operation was of about 34 million euro, and according to indiscretions, the Cardinali family which had owned the entity since 2001, will not be part of the company other than to pass on the knowledge necessary for the new owner to operate it.
Versalis acquired Tecnofilm
Versalis, chemicals’ manufacturer owned by ENI, announced on April 15th the closing of the purchase of 100% of Tecnofilm. The entity headquartered in Sant’Elpidio a Mare (Fermo) manufactures polyolefins and compounds based on plastic materials, mainly for the footwear industry and the production of technical products. Founded in 1972, it was taken over by Bruno Cardinali in 2001, who managed the company with his son Roberto, current president of Confindustria Marche.
The strategy
“The acquisition of Tecnofilm further consolidates Versalis’ strategy of specializing in the business – commented Adriano Alfani, CEO of Versalis –. From a strategic standpoint, in fact, it represents an opportunity for development and specialization of the product portfolio, as well as integration with the downstream chain of elastic compounds: specifically for the industrial and footwear segment. It’s a chain in which we are main players with Finproject, which Tecnofilm will enrich”. According to what reported by Corriere Adriatico, the value of Tecnofilm amounted to around 34 million euro. But the company claims to have generated a revenue of around 58 million euro in 2022 with 100 employees. The Cardinali family won’t leave the segment after the sale, as it still owns Cellini Stampi, located in Civitanova Marche (Macerata).
