Assomac and UITIC join forces to organize the 21st edition of the International Footwear Congress. The global conference for footwear technology will take place in 2023 between Milan and Vigevano. The collaboration between the two associations will also be shown at the next Simac Tanning Tech (Fieramilano Rho, 20 -22 of September 2022). “We redesigned the organizational model and offering to make it more strategic – says Maria Vittoria Brustia, president of Assomac Servizi in regard to Simac Tanning Tech -. It will be a networking hub of international weight”.
The synergy
Assomac is the Italian Manufacturers of Machinery for Footwear, Leathergoods, Tannery, and Related Accessories, and UITIC is the International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians, which manages the development and sharing of technologies for the footwear segment. The two partners presented their partnership during a meeting held on June 29th at the Milanese site of Assolombarda. There are two occasions to be managed together for them. The next Simac Tanning Tech, scheduled for September to coincide with Lineapelle, “will be the chance to showcase the goal we share – said Brustia –. That of sharing and creating an open system that can support everybody’s growth, with healthy competition and useful collaborations”. New at the fair: the informative platform, workshops and talks, and the partnership with ITA (Italian Trade Agency) and SPS Italia.
The conference
The second collaboration item is the organization of the International Footwear Congress, scheduled to take place next year between Milan and Vigevano. “All our efforts are aimed at the organization of the global conference in 2023 – comments Yves Morin, president of UITIC -, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the association”. The main topics to be developed have already been chosen: sustainability, digital transformation, logistics, supply chain and a specific focus on human capital in the future.
