Caprice, a German shoe manufacturer, controlled by Wortmann Group from Pirmasens, can monitor real-time, 24-hour active video links in each of its plants spread around the world. From Europe to those in Pakistan and Myanmar that its plants have been energetically self-sufficient with solar panels to fight the lack of electricity. Now Caprice enters the 3D printing dimension by producing prototypes of smaller accessories, in addition to heels, soles and the entire shoe model. “Using the new 3D technology, we expect a tremendous acceleration of our development processes and greater freedom of design,” said Jürgen Cölsch, managing partner of the German shoe factory.
