Rihanna chooses Amina Muaddi for Fenty‘s shoes. The designer, who won designer of the year for Footwear News, is responsible for designing shoes of the brand created by the singer with LVMH group.
Muaddi’s career
The job in Fenty and the award consecrated Muaddi, 33, as one of the most popular footwear designers of the moment. In 2013, she co-founded the brand Oscar Tiye. In May 2017, she left the brand to launch her own homonymous brand in the summer of 2018. Muaddi has chosen a seasonally adjusted approach, preferring the see now buy now, along with the special drops for its retailers (Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods and Harvey Nichols).
The commitments
Muaddi also continues to design shoes for couturier Alexandre Vauthier. She’s a star on Instagram, where her brand has 127,000 followers, and her personal account 309,000. According to what Muaddi revealed to FootwearNews, a few days after the launch of her brand, the designer received an appreciation message. Not from any fan, but from Jahleel Weaver, stylist for Rihanna. “Congratulations on the wonderful collection – the text reads -. I just wanted to let you know that I bought some pairs for Rihanna”. Since then, on several occasions the pop star has been photographed with Amina Muaddi shoes at her feet. According to FootwearNews, Muaddi’s partnership with Fenty will be an independent project, as the Italian-Jordanian designer will continue to follow all her other current projects. (Mv)
