UITIC agenda is ready: international footwear industry to meet up in Porto on May 16-18

There we go with a massive number of names and abbreviations. As for brands, Deichmann and Deckers will participate. As regards technology hubs, French CTC, together with CTCP, the masters of the house, will be there. Talking about machinery and technology suppliers, DESMA and Atom will take part in the event. Such are some of most important attendees (representing the various sectors) in the agenda of the 20^th UITIC congress, as announced yesterday by the organizational executive committee. Several representatives of the international footwear industry are going to gather in Porto, on May 16-18, to participate in this upcoming event, named “From Fashion to factory: a new technological Era”. They will mostly focus their talks on the industry’s prospective challenges in terms of innovation. “Technology and digitalization are affecting more and more our daily life – points out in his release Luìs Onofre, president of Apiccaps, the association of Portuguese shoe manufacturers, who is in charge of the event, together with CTCP -: that is the reason why it is well worth thinking over such themes. In addition to that, sensible materials and high performances, along with flexible manufacturing processes and growing computerization and robotics applications, as well as new customization stages, are getting more and more prominent nowadays”.
