In Portugal, a contest has been raffling two journeys off to Milan: the winners will grab a chance to visit Lineapelle. Vapesol, a Portuguese company specialized in the manufacture of shoe soles and headquartered in Felgueiras, has launched the Academia Vapesol contest, on its first edition, directed at footwear designers. Contestants are supposed to design shoes, for Men and Women, for fall-winter 2020/2021, while including in their models a sole taken from the Vapesol catalogue. The winner is going to get, as a prize, 1,000 euros, plus a complimentary journey to Milan, for two people: he will therefore have the opportunity to come and visit Lineapelle next edition, scheduled on October 2-4. The runner-up will win a trip to Milan to visit Lineapelle as well. As for the models, the selected ones will be exhibited at the Vapesol stand during the fair event mentioned above. As reported by the labor.pt website, students attending the professional training school of Felgueiras, as well as the ones attending the footwear industry Professional Training Centre (for the S. João da Madeira and Felgueiras hub) and students from the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave will be participating in the contest. The panel of judges will be made up of a Vapesol representative, a Portuguese fashion designer and a representative of APICCAPS, Portugal’s association of footwear, components, and leather goods manufacturers. They will make public the list of winners next July, while prize-giving ceremony will take place at the Casa de las Artes de Felgueiras
