Another factory. Hundreds more hires. Obviously, in France. Louis Vuitton never stops. It is not enough, in fact, to have announced the opening of a 220-person atelier by 2020 in Vendôme (in addition to a long, further series of projects and inaugurations). The brand would like to double its presence in the town in the Center-Loire Valley region. To report it is the information portal lanouvellerepublique.fr.
The new project
According to the French portal, Louis Vuitton would like to settle in a part of the local Oratory Wood Technology Park, near the TGV train station. Here, they would like to build a second plant capable of holding between 250 and 350 employees. The new factory should therefore be placed side by side with the one that should arise by adapting the Régence building. It is an abandoned barracks of the First World War, as well as the former refectory of a Benedictine monastery.
Flattened grounds
Lanouvellerepublique.fr explains that the five hectares of land that would tempt the brand are property of the Municipality. And that the City Council of Vendôme would be evaluating the start of negotiations. Internal sources ensure that the operation should go through without problems and quickly, so much so that the construction of the production site should be completed by the end of 2020. Furthermore, the brand would get the right to build on a third land adjacent to the second one, where there would be space for a further laboratory of the same size. Assuming that all three sites come into operation according to the rumours gathered by lanouvellerepublique.fr, Louis Vuitton would end up having about 700 employees in Vendôme alone.
