Winners of a contest will be awarded. You can admire all the prototypes made by the 24 participating students. And there is a seminar that deepens the sense of Korean style applied to leather. Lineapelle hosts Hongik University, South Korea’s leading academy for art and design. And it presents the work in progress of a stimulating and fruitful collaboration. The Korean looks at the fair, therefore, are all to be discovered.
Lineapelle Award
Lineapelle Award is a competition launched on September 11, 2019. It involves 24 students from the Fashion Design and Industrial Design departments of Hongik University. “The project – explain Lineapelle – stimulated the participants to discover and communicate Italian leather’s values of circularity and sustainability. At the end of an articulated didactic path (briefing, workshop, presentation and development of the projects) all the prototypes made by the students were the protagonists of a dedicated exhibition set up last December in South Korea. And today they will come to the fair.
Korean program
All the models made by Korean students are exhibited in the Korean Creativity Space, in front of the entrance of pavilion 9. Today, February 19, at 3.30 pm at the LEM Fashion Theater (corso Italia, side of pavilion 13) it is possible to attend the K Leather Creativity seminar, which explores the sense of Korean style applied to leather. The award ceremony for the two contest winners with the presence of the Consul General of the Republic of Korea, Yoo Hye-ran, will follow.
The winners
The former is Jin Woo Chung, who presented his 2030 Pre Billie’s project, in the Fashion Design category: he achieved the victory thanks to his ability to express “a creative and experimental use of leather”. The latter is Ji Yoon Kim, who presented his E-Prob project, in the Industrial Design category: he successfully managed to apply Lineapelle Award leather concept to several fields: “Office, gaming, electronics and accessories”.
