2019 luxury revenues to exceed 270 billion euros, predict Bain&Co/Altagamma

In 2019, luxury global turnover is bound to exceed 270 billion euros: leather goods and footwear, most of all, will be driving sales. Such are the estimated figures emerging from the Altagamma (High End) Monitor over the worldwide markets, carried out by Bain&Co together with Altagamma Consensus 2019. Throughout 2018, luxury items overall turnover reached 260 billion euros, therefore steadily going up by 6% over the last 12 years. This year, predictably, the business trend will further speed up, increasing by 4 to 6%, therefore exceeding 270 billion euros and reaching 271 to 276 billion euros. According to financial analysts, such positive trend will supposedly go on this way until 2025 (growing by 3 to 5% every year). “Leather bags, accessories and footwear” will expectedly achieve the best performances: in fact, their own revenues are likely to increase remarkably, by 7%. Once again, China is going to be the driving buyer worldwide (+18/20%).
