Bottega Veneta strengthens its footwear business by hiring Safa Sahin, former head of footwear at Balmain. Zara continues its strategy of elevating its positioning through collaborations. The latest involves Rhuigi Villaseñor, creative director of Bally since last January. Thus, the RHU collection was born, focusing on T-shirts and footwear.
Sahin at Bottega Veneta
Safa Sahin, sneakers designer at Balmain and former Nike, has changed teams. He will wear the “green jersey” of Bottega Veneta, going to work on new shoe models of the Vicenza-based brand. This was announced by the designer himself on his Instagram profile (pictured). Sahin, Pausemag points out, is the mind behind a number of successful Balmain shoe models. For example, the controversial Unicorn sneakers and the very popular leather slippers. He will work alongside Matthieu Blazy, creative director of the Kering-orbiting label.
Bally with Zara
From luxury to fast fashion. From Bottega Veneta to Zara. The most important brand of Galician giant Inditex is releasing several capsules born from collaborations in order to elevate its positioning. The latest one features Rhuigi Villaseñor, founder, creative director and CEO of luxury streetwear brand Rhude. Since the beginning of the year, Villaseñor has been creative director of the Swiss footwear and accessories company Bally, owned by JAB Holdings. As Modaes writes, on Monday, May 16, the men’s fashion collection RHU was launched. Footwear and T-shirts are the two product categories the collection focuses on.
