From Fendace to Chersace, via Fendacobs: collab depopulates

While Fendacobs may be on the way, Chersace is already a reality. Fendi and Versace, who collaborated to create Fendace, continue to experiment with new forms of collab. Rumours, in fact, indicate that Fendi’s next creative sharing will be with designer Marc Jacobs. Versace, on the other hand, has launched a capsule created with pop star Cher on the occasion of Pride Month. Code name: Chersace. Its profits will all go to charity.

Fendacobs, that is?

Kim Jones and Marc Jacobs, who worked together at Louis Vuitton, might reunite. This is supported by rumours reported, for example, by WWD. The two designers are in fact discussing their possible collaboration for the brand Fendi, where Jones designs the women’s haute couture, ready-to-wear and fur collections. The project could debut next September, at one of the fashion weeks on the calendar. Fendi and Marc Jacobs are brands controlled by the French luxury giant LVMH. Obviously, mouths are sealed on both sides. For Fendi, it would be another next-generation collaboration after the one with Versace in September 2021, which gave birth to a real brand: Fendace.

From Fendace to Chersace

In all this, Versace did not stand still. After the large-scale collaboration with Fendi, it released some products from the collaboration with Cher aimed at Pride Month. Proceeds from the sale of the products included in the limited edition capsule collection “Chersace”, specifies WWD, will benefit Gender Spectrum. This is a non-profit organisation that cares for LGBTQ children and young people. Some accessories feature the Versace logo reinvented to become Chersace. The collab, in short, depopulates and reshapes luxury’s creative approach to the market.
