The winner’s palm goes to the group of Federico Renai, Melissa Patriarchi, Jong Hoon Kim and Beatrice Fantuzzi. Lineapelle rewards Polimoda students who have put themselves to the test of the Lineapelle Merchandising Collection competition. With Your Steps To Success project the students imagined useful objects for successful people. On the other hand, there are many of them int the Milanese audience. The collection includes a coat hanger that can be applied to bags, backpacks, belts; a small wristwatch and a diary with holders for pen and business cards. The accessories are all made with vegetable tanned leather, presenting natural colours and precious hand stitching.
The competition
Lineapelle Merchandising Collection was launched in May 2019. The competition is aimed at students in Undergraduate Fashion Marketing & Communications and Fashion Product Management. But there’s more: those of Leather Technology, Fashion Design Management and Footwear and Accessories Design are also involved. The sense of the challenge, we said, is to develop a capsule collection made up of seven merchandising products. Each team of four students was also asked to present the graphic proposal and the mock-up of the products.
Lineapelle awards Polimoda students
Since the students of Polimoda have put so much quality into the field, Lineapelle has decided to reward two more teams who came in second place ex aequo. Ahmad Aline, Sofia Gaudenzi, Lucrezia Del Mecio and Giorgia Villarà won with their Ludic Leather. Using production waste, playful objects were made. Inspired by the game world, they teach people how to know leather and how it is made. Any examples? The Grain’s Cub: six faces of a cube to learn six different techniques of leather processing. Or the Re-Memory: the dermis of each animal has different characteristics and peculiarities, a game to learn to associate leather and product.
Lineapelle’s connections
Last but not leats, Filippo Balugani, Sara Baradaran, Alexandra Bucur and Grigorii Liubachev, with Lineapelle Connections propose a collection made of pull-up calfskin, vegetable tanned in gray-black colours with orange stitching and rib. The award is recognised for its ability to offer classic objects with a clean and innovative design.
