New York: Calvin Klein’s upsetting revolution goes on, while Diesel USA apply for Chapter 11

Calvin Klein keep facing a rather complicated situation: consequently, they decided to suspend the production of their top line, Calvin Klein Collection, renamed 205W39NYC, which was the highlight of the brand’s latest fashion shows (in the picture, a bag from the collection). That is one more remarkable blow, following the separation with Raf Simons (who was the designer and the manager of the line, whose primary aim was to improve the brand’s image) alongside the non-participation in the latest New York Fashion Week. Due to such stop, the brand will shut down their flagship store in 654, Madison Avenue, Manhattan, NY; furthermore, Michelle Kessler-Sanders, president of Calvin Klein 205W39NYC, will quit the company by the end of June. The failure of marketing strategy, which aimed to place the brand towards the high end, urged PVH Corp, Calvin Klein’s owner, to abandon the project definitely. They are going to fire around 100 employees, In New York and Milan. Likewise, Diesel USA are also facing tough times: in fact, they submitted an application for Chapter 11 before the United States Bankruptcy Court, in the District of Delaware. The main reasons why they filed such petition are the decrease in the wholesale orders and an overall downturn in sales. The company is planning to reorganize the whole retail.
