Everything’s ready fort he sixth edition of the national contest “Amici per la pelle”. Secondary school students (second and third year), coming from the Italian main tanning workshops, have been taking part in the contest, which obviously aroused their curiosity and interest in the world of leather tanning. On Thu 23 February over 1,100 students will gather at Lineapelle, at the Service Centre Auditorium, in Fieramilano Rho, to find out the winners of a competition primarily based on creativity. This year theme was “Toy Tan, an historical and cultural evolution of toy”: how to make use of leather to create small, original, creative art works. 600 youngsters from Tuscany, 100 from Lombardy, 100 from Campania and 300 from Veneto are expected to show up tomorrow at the fair. Works will be exhibited at Pavilion 9: fans will cast their vote over there. As well, vote may be expressed on Unic Facebook page, on a special section, on 21-22 February. A skillful committee, composed by fashion stylists and designers, one leather tanning centre representative and one art critic, will assess works. Prize-giving ceremony is scheduled on 23 February, at 11am. Special surprises not to be missed. Much fun to be there.
