Away from Vigevano. Fiscatech has started procedures to transfer from the Lombard city to Cormons (Gorizia) all 60 employees of the plant in Via Oroboni. Fiscatech was created from the merger of Fiscagomma and Sogetec, and is controlled by the Pellan Italia group, chaired by Carlotta Pignatti Costamagna, granddaughter of Fiscatech founder Achille Costamagna. The company is active in the production of innovative technical materials, such as non-woven fabrics and latex foams.
Away from Vigevano
Let’s call it “internal delocalisation”. Fiscatech wants to amalgamate production at its Cormons plant in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. As a result, it has started procedures to transfer the 60 employees working at the Vigevano production site to Friuli-Venezia Giulia. As Il Giorno reports, the company, Assolombarda and trade unions are talking to take stock of the situation and find a solution, if any.
Once upon a time there was the shoe
Fiscatech was set up to serve the former flourishing shoe industry in Vigevano. With the sector in decline, the company had decided to diversify its production by expanding into bookbinding, luxury packaging, labels and more. Il Giorno recounts that, between 2009 and 2012, there was a period of crisis that forced the owners to lay off around 70 people. The workforce dropped from 150 to 80. In the following years, they decreased further to the current 60 or so. In February 2020, during Lineapelle, Fiscatech announced that it had acquired the textile business unit Sisa (Varese) from Akea. Thus, Fiscatech had also put a foot in synthetic footwear products. Today the decision has been made to unite all production in Cormons.
