The text of the guidelines for the management of chemical analysis and their results was presented to participants in the CLeAR (Confidence in Leather Analysis Results), an initiative launched by spring 2016 From UNIC along with the protagonists of fashion. The document – debated during the meeting scheduled for 3 May at the Milanese National Union of the Tannery Industry – should arrive, in its final version, after the summer. CLeAR, a project born because all fashion actors (tanneries, Italian and foreign labels, suppliers and contractors) define the same criteria for the interpretation of chemical analysis, approaching the result. The goal is to achieve a single standard for chemical analysis methods carried on leather, the reliability of results, and the minimisation of errors.
