The first day positive trend proved to be steady: compared to last year, Lineapelle New York (February 1|2, Metropolitan Pavilion) concluded with a remarkable increase of visitors (+ 8%). Such a considerable accomplishment enhances the importance of the event, which is by all means a core one for the North American market: in fact from 2009 to 2015 Italian leather import has been nearly tripled and in the first 10 months of 2016 (for seven years in a row) Italian finished product sales have increased (+12%). Back to Lineapelle New York 33rd edition, some exhibitors said that the fair – which has put forth summer 2018 leather, materials and accessories previews of about 100 exhibitors – was “awesome”. Visitors, that is, buyers mostly keen on footwear and leather goods, have been focusing their work on searching for “nice and feasible” materials. Focus on quality, still teamed with “the best price”. Next edition (Fall-Winter 2018-19) is scheduled on July 18-19 (Tue-Wed).
