Louis Vuitton takes on 100 employees in Texas, providing them with training, medical insurance and 11,5 dollars as hourly wage

Things have been going on fast. That is the reason why on next 31st January Louis Vuitton is going to participate in a job fair, in Texas, to take on local work staff: 100 open positions allegedly. Last summer the French fashion brand, which belongs to luxury giant LVMH, announced that they were planning to open a manufacturing site in Keen (Texas), where they have already bought out an area of around 10,000 square metres. At the end of the month, they will be meeting up with artisans, who are applying for employment, during the job fair organized by Southwestern Adventist University. As reported by the local press, LV are not recruiting experienced staff: in fact, they are going to run a training course whose venue will be a provisional manufacturing plant set up in the area. The hourly wage, to begin with, will be 11,5 dollars (roughly 9,25 euros), for 40 weekly hours; on top of that, employees will be given a few benefits, such as paid leaves and medical insurance. The press also reports that local councils have been already attending to reinforce logistic infrastructures in the area; meanwhile, Louis Vuitton are planning to invest overall 20 million dollars (16 million euros) in a production site, thus potentially hiring 500 new employees.
