The US labels wave goodbye to discounts. Coach, Kors and Spade sell at full price

Large American fashion companies continue to adjust the generalised discount policy. Between January and March, according to Edited data, the sale of full-price handbags by the American department stores rose compared to the previous quarter (which, however, includes the Christmas period). Kate Spade (+ 7.8%) is at the top of the list, followed by Coach (+ 1.7%) who, after recent acquisitions, are under the same roof. Michael Kors, which accounts for 46% of the department stores, stopped at 0.7%. From clothing data, Bloomberg Intelligence analysts argue that the entire industry has reduced the introduction of discount cycles. In January, clothing cost rose by 6% (the highest in the last three years), while February’s transactions fell by 15% (the highest in three years). The recent acquisition then generated a series of comparative analyses. At the moment, Coach scores more (on average 46%), especially in footwear, followed by Kors (34%) and Spade (36%). Interestingly, Coach CEO Victor Luis recently stated that Spade “is heavily dependent on promotional channels, flash sales and wholesale.”
