Leather, the excellence (product) of our made-in-Italy industry: its values and false myths, to be rectified. That’s the title of the lecture held on Sunday, February 26th, in Milan by UNIC – Italian Tanneries, as part of the women’s edition of Milano Fashion Week (21/27 February). An important and significant event, focused on offering a space for training and information that can stimulate knowledge and share more knowledge to those present at Palazzo Giureconsulti.
UNIC at Milano Fashion Week
To provide training and spread information leather, UNIC was invited in the new space that CNMI (Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana) destined to the Fashion Hub project. In other words, the headquarters of its future vision, which is tied to promoting young designers of the MFW, which moved close to Piazza Duomo for this edition. Palazzo Giureconsulti, in fact. The ideal location to ensure that all the necessary information emerges. The ideal location to tell the right story and make certain that the material’s green values and quality of Italy’s leather are known.
Training and information
And so it was. The event was sold out. The public was made of young stylists, operators and students. A course that analyzed all the material’s dimensions and (especially) its production dynamic, focused on the excellence that makes up Italy’s tanning segment. All while keeping in mind a common denominator: the wish to discredit (once and for all), all the common misconceptions that afflict leather and tanning. This choice hit the right spot, causing deep curiosity and a wave of questions at the end of the event organized by UNIC. Showing, once again, that the culture of leather and the quality of the made-in-Italy segment is more than proper: it’s a necessity.
