The German shoe business: Deichmann buys the Buffalo Boots brand. The sale price has not been revealed. “Our goal is to keep the famous brand as an independent entity and develop it,” said the president Heinrich Deichmann, who stressed the further step forward in the diversification strategy of the products on offer, which started with brands like Snipes or Onygo. Deichmann closed 2015 with a turnover of almost €5.3 million (+8% on 2014). Buffalo Boots was founded in 1979 as a company selling cowboy boots. It then moved on to the manufacture and marketing of sports shoes to later expand its offer and target markets until reaching the feet of the stars: the Spice Girls, Madonna and Cher among many others. Buffalo has 17 stores in Germany and Austria.
